Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Cancer MDT
The Oxford Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic (HPB) Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) is a well-established renowned group of experts with a specialist interest in the diagnosis, treatment and management of people with suspected cancers of the liver, biliary tree and pancreas.
The team comprises doctors, nurses and other allied health professionals who manage the treatment of these cancers.
The Oxford HPB MDT also offers a specialist service and advice for others within the Thames Valley Cancer Network including Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Wiltshire. We follow international guidelines to provide research driven patient care with our close links with the University of Oxford and Cancer Research UK.
The team meets weekly on a Monday to discuss, in confidence, suspected newly diagnosed patients with cancers of the liver, pancreas and biliary tree.
This multidisciplinary team approach to planning an agreed programme of investigation and treatment, specific to each individual patient's needs, is central to how cancer treatment is provided in Oxford, ensuring the appropriate treatment is delivered in as timely a manner as is possible.
