We believe that contributing to scientific knowledge can in turn benefit patients and consequently the quality of our service.

Data collection and dissemination is always done after obtaining ethics approval from an NHS Regional Ethics Committee and according to strict rules of privacy, confidentiality and anonymity.

Eligible patients for a study may be invited to participate but they are always free to decline or to withdraw at any stage.

Participating in a research study would not impact on the quality of treatment received.
