Liver Kidney Microsomal Antibodies

Also known as: LKM; LKM-1

Anti LKM antibodies are associated with type two autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) and in some patients they are associated with hepatitis C infection. LKM antibodies are found only in a small number of patients with autoimmune chronic active hepatitis and drug-induced hepatitis, but are highly specific. LKM-1 antibodies are directed against the cytochrome P450IID6.
