Screening Laboratory

The Screening Laboratory at the John Radcliffe Hospital provides neonatal and antenatal screening for:

  • Oxfordshire
  • Buckinghamshire
  • High Wycombe
  • Milton Keynes
  • East Berkshire
  • West Berkshire.

The Screening Laboratory provides second trimester screening only for the following locations:

  • Basingstoke and Winchester
  • Brighton
  • Chichester
  • Falklands
  • Isle of Wight
  • Medway
  • Musgrove Park, Somerset
  • Portsmouth
  • Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford
  • Salisbury
  • Southampton
  • University College London Hospitals
  • Wexham Park
  • Worthing
  • Yeovil, Somerset

Facilities

The Screening Laboratory is equipped with:

  • two PerkinElmer AutoDELFIA analysers
  • three DELFIA Xpress analysers
  • a Roche Cobas e411 analyser
  • two LC-tandem mass spectrometers.

The laboratory also performs:

  • immunosuppressant drug monitoring using mass spectrometry
  • pre-eclampsia testing using the Roche Cobas e411.
