NHS Cardiac Research Team

The NHS Cardiac Research Team at the John Radcliffe Hospital was formed in 2010.

Our award-winning team has been involved in a first-in-human study, and has been the first to recruit worldwide in international studies.

Research studies

The team includes Research Nurses, Study Co-ordinators and Data Co-ordinators.

Research Nurses manage studies in all aspects of adult cardiac research including:

  • stent studies
  • heart valve
  • electrophysiology
  • heart failure device studies.

Study Co-ordinators are responsible for:

  • study set-up
  • research governance
  • contracts negotiation
  • study budgeting and finance.

Data Co-ordinators manage:

  • data administration
  • query resolutions.

Delivery

We work closely with cardiac consultants in areas such as:

  • intervention
  • cardiac imaging
  • surgery
  • cardiac rhythm management.

We support cardiovascular research studies that are:

  • investigator-initiated
  • academic
  • commercially-sponsored.
