Consultant Paediatric Oncologist

Dr Shaun Wilson PhD MRCPCH DCH MB ChB is a specialist in the management of children, teenagers and young adults with solid tumours and brain tumours.

He undertook his paediatric oncology training in the United Kingdom and Australia, completing a PhD in translational oncology at the University of Birmingham, UK.

His particular interests include brain tumours, sarcomas and paediatric oncology in developing countries.

Dr Esther Blanco

Dr Esther Blanco FRCPCH is a specialist in childhood cancer. Her clinical work involves the treatment of all types of paediatric solid tumours as well as working alongside her haematology colleagues in the management of children with leukaemia and other haematological malignancies.

Her main research interest is in epidemiology, and she is a member of the CCLG Supportive Care group.

Dr Amy Mitchell MBChB, MSc, BSc, Dip Clin Ed, FRCPCH is a specialist in children's and adolescent cancer care and manages all types of solid tumours, brain tumours and lymphomas, as well as working closely with haematology colleagues in the management of children with leukaemia.

She is passionate about Quality Improvement within the NHS and is involved with this both nationally and as a Champion for Quality Improvement within the Trust.

Her main clinical and research interests are in improving patient experience through Quality Improvement, Psycho-social aspects of cancer care and she is passionate about education and training.

Dr Sheila Lane MB BS PhD MRCPCH is a Consultant Paediatric Oncologist at Oxford Children's Hospital. She specialises in the management of long-term complications of cancer treatment and has set up a comprehensive long-term children's cancer follow-up programme in Oxford.

Dr Lane is also the Clinical Director for the Oxford Fertility Tissue Cryopreservation Programme. This is a unique service which is a joint venture between the University of Oxford and the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The programme offers a clinical fertility preservation service to children and young adults across England and Wales, as well as spearheading a large research portfolio with national and international collaboration.

Dr Georgina Hall BSc PhD FRCP FRCPath FRCPCH is the lead clinician for Teenager and Young Adults with Cancer (TYA) for the Thames Valley, working to ensure this age group gets the care they need.

Previously she was lead for Paediatric Haematology and Oncology and the Clinical Trials and Research Team, and led on the creation of a dedicated paediatric haemophilia service in 2015.

She is Clinical Programme Director for JACIE accreditation (stem cell services) in paediatrics and Chief and Principal Investigator for lymphoma and haemophilia trials, locally and nationally.

Her main clinical and research interests include lymphoma particularly Hodgkin lymphoma and Haemophilia.

Dr Amrana Qureshi

Dr Amrana Qureshi has worked as a paediatric haematology consultant at Oxford Children's Hospital since 2009, and prior to this worked at Great Ormond Street as a consultant. She is the Local Principal Investigator for the current National Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia trial in children and young adults.

Dr Qureshi treats children with all malignant haematological conditions. In addition she is the Specialist Lead for Haemoglobinopathies in the Thames Valley Region, which includes all children with sickle cell disease and Thalassemia.

Dr Qureshi has regular haematology clinics at Oxford Children's Hospital, Royal Berkshire and Wexham Park, and does sickle cell clinics at Milton Keynes.

Dr Neha Bhatnagar

Dr Neha Bhatnagar MBChB MRCPCH FRCPath MD is a specialist in benign and malignant haematological disorders in children and adolescents.

Her main clinical and research interests include Down syndrome associated leukaemias, childhood leukaemia and neonatal haematology.

She is the Paediatric Haemophilia Llead at the Oxford Haemophilia and Thrombosis Comprehensive Care Centre and looks after children and adolescents with haemophilia and other bleeding disorders as well as children and adolescents with thrombosis.
