Biography

Annina is a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and also an Associate Professor in Neuroscience at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Oxford.

She obtained her Physiotherapy undergraduate training in Switzerland and completed her specialisation in Musculoskeletal Therapy with a Masters degree from Curtin University in Australia and a PhD in Neuroscience from The University of Queensland in Australia.

Annina has extensive clinical experience in the area of musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, having worked in university hospitals and private practices in the UK, Switzerland and Australia.

Annina's main interest both clinically and academically concerns the assessment and management of patients with nerve related (neuropathic) pain. She specialises in the assessment of complex pain conditions and the management of patients with a range of nerve disorders including sciatica. Annina's practice is guided by a strong patient-centred approach and an extensive scientific knowledge base.

Annina teaches Physiotherapists internationally on the topic of nerve-related pain and is regularly invited to present her scientific work at national and international conferences. In her spare time, Annina loves dancing Argentine Tango and discovering the wonders of nature by foot.

Annina is a member of the International Association for the Study of Pain and the Neuropathic Pain Special Interest Group, and the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
