Collaborate with us

Collaborating with partners can help translate scientific or technological discoveries into real benefits for patients.

Oxford University Hospitals is therefore open to collaborating with industry, patient groups, charities and other academic institutions on research projects that will improve patient care.

The partnership between the Oxford University Hospitals, the University of Oxford, Oxford Brookes University and Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust allows us to offer the complementary input of clinicians, academics and patients, as well world-leading facilities, expertise and resources.

Since 2007, the National Institute for Health and Care Research has invested in translational health research in Oxford, designating it an NIHR Biomedical Research Centre and allowing it to increase the volume of clinical trials it conducts.

In 2022, an NIHR Clinical Research Facility was established at OUH, increasing our capacity to conduct more early-phase trials.

We can work with industry on:

  • contract research projects
  • collaborative research projects
  • focus groups of clinical staff
  • access to facilities.

We have an experienced and flexible IP and contracts team who will negotiate the IP terms for any agreements.

Funding

We can work with partners to identify suitable funding opportunities and make joint applications where appropriate. We can also work with partners on a fee-for-service basis.

Confidentiality

We recognise that confidentiality is paramount in certain circumstances, and have documentation to ensure that you are protected in terms of confidentiality and commercially sensitive information.
