e-Referral Service (ERS) advice
This site is for queries from GPs and services only. If you have a patient query regarding your new referral or appointment, please go back to your referrer in the first instance, or the service you have been referred to.
We have introduced a helpline to provide GP practices with a one-stop service for queries about patients being treated at our hospitals under e-Referral.

Existing arrangements for booking appointments at OUH
With the implementation of Cerner Millennium EPR system, we are working towards providing Directly Bookable Services (DBS).
Directly Bookable Services offer the distinct advantage that the patient can have direct access to a date and time for an appointment, and if by some chance appointments are not available, by selecting 'Defer to Provider' the list of patients waiting for an appointment electronically sits within each department, which will have to increase capacity to accommodate the appointments.
Safeguarding information
e-Referral is the preferred method of referral for GPs referring to OUH. This supports the safeguarding of patient information and provides an audit trail for referrals.
