The course aims to give students the opportunity to:

- develop an understanding of the multifaceted aspects of posture
- carry out assessments of posture for people with complex disabilities
- explore and develop a variety of approaches to the management of posture

This is a nine month course comprising four separate blocks of face to face teaching, of which two are four day blocks and two are three day blocks, plus a viva at the end of the fourth teaching block.
This will be an intensive course of study. Theoretical learning will be delivered online before and between the taught blocks. Applied learning during the taught weeks will be augmented by clinical practice in the workplace.
In addition, participants will be expected to spend considerable time reading and undertaking written work. Self-directed learning is a critical aspect of the course.
A total of 600 hours of student effort is required. Of this, 100 hours are spent in the three taught weeks, leaving 500 hours to be spent by students over nine months, i.e. approximately 13 hours per week. Some of the latter will be taken up by practical work conducted in the workplace.
