OHSRC Research Grants

Grants of up to £10,000 are made to salaried staff working within the NHS in Oxfordshire, including those with honorary contracts, and to general practitioners.

Oxfordshire Health Services Research Committee (OHSRC) Research Grants

The OHSRC aims to:

  • support research to the benefit of the patients of Oxfordshire in the areas of:
    • clinical research
    • community/primary care research
    • relevant laboratory studies
  • provide opportunities for research by health service workers arising out of, and closely related to, their day-to-day practice
  • wholly fund small projects or pilot studies which can be carried out within three years
  • provide opportunities for younger researchers who are in the early years of their research careers (this normally means that established researchers are very unlikely to receive an award).

The Committee's funding comes from research legacies left to Oxford Hospitals Charity and an annual grant from the Nuffield Oxford Hospitals Fund (NOHF) charity.

Funds are limited and awards are made on the scientific merit of the application.

The OHSRC will consider all eligible applications, but would particularly welcome applications relating to the following topics:

  • Alzheimer's research
  • Cancer research

The OHSRC Chair is also happy to discuss the suitability of any applications. This is currently Professor Dom Furniss.

Application forms and further details can be obtained from:

Charlotte Turner, Secretary to the OHSRC

Email: ohsrc@ndorms.ox.ac.uk

Tel: 01865 612754

The closing dates for applications are 15 April and 15 October each year.
