The building was specifically refurbished and redesigned with patient, clinician and laboratory input.

We are surrounded by extensive gardens, landscaped with funds from Oxford Hospitals Charity, providing a peaceful atmosphere for our patients and staff.

Children's services

Although we are one Haemophilia Centre, our service for children is based in the West Wing, John Radcliffe Hospital:

Access

How to find the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre

We have eight Blue Badge spaces outside the adult centre for our patients, with a ramp for wheelchair access leading to the centre.

Reception

You are welcome to wait in our spacious waiting area, which is also used for patient education workshops when not needed for clinics.

Drinking water is available for patients and we provide books and activities for children accompanying patients.

Reception has a Hearing Loop and information for patients who may need translators or other communication aids.

If you wish to use our Quiet Room, please let Reception staff know.

Toilets

There are three accessible toilets close to the Reception area.

Clinic rooms

We have seven clinic rooms for outpatient clinical review; five have examination couches and two are used for phlebotomy (blood tests) only, with specialist chairs and equipment.

Research / observation bay

We have three curtained bays for patients attending infusional therapy or research visits.

This room can also be used as an additional clinic room when not in use by the research team.

Other service locations

Patients admitted with a bleed are usually cared for in the Churchill Hospital on the Haematology Ward.

Patients receiving gene therapy will receive this on the Ambulatory Care Unit.

Some treatments (such as IV iron infusions, red cell transfusions, rituximab or IVIg) are given in the Haematology Day Treatment Unit.
