Visiting the lab

A child plays with a bead braceletOn arrival at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, patients should report to the Tebbit Centre reception (the first building on the right-hand side as you approach the hospital from the main entrance).

Patients need to bring a sleeveless top and any hand or wrist splints they are currently using.

The upper limb analysis procedure involves
:

  • clinical assessment - a clinician will assess the joints and muscles in both arms and hands
  • video assessment while performing different tasks or
  • video assessment of a play session.

The whole process will take approximately one hour.
