Happy 76th Birthday to the NHS – a thank you from our Chair and Chief Executive Officer

Professor Sir Jonathan Montgomery, Chair of OUH, and Professor Meghana Pandit, Chief Executive Officer at OUH, wrote to staff today (Friday 5 July) to thank them for being part of our OneTeamOneOUH and to celebrate 76 years of the NHS.

They said: "Every single one of us who work for the NHS plays our part in saving lives, bringing new life into the world and providing excellent and compassionate care.

"Thank you for providing the best possible care for our patients and for your compassionate excellence in spite of the challenges facing us all, both professionally and personally.

"Thank you not only for your excellent care for our patients and their families and carers, but also for caring and looking after each other, your teams and your wider staff networks in the Trust.

"And finally, thank you to our wonderful volunteers and thank you to Oxford Hospitals Charity for working tirelessly alongside us in the Trust to support staff.

"The NHS Birthday is an opportunity for us to look forward to another year as OneTeamOneOUH. We know that we will again be inspired by the reports of your kindness to each other and to our patients, by the exceptional research that leads to transformation of treatments and for our patients' lives and the day-to-day excellence of the care you provide.

"Happy NHS Birthday."
