Molecular investigations

Detection of the BCR-ABL fusion gene - screen for the presence of BCR-ABL fusion transcripts using multiplex PCR.

JAK2 V617F - targeted analysis by allele specific PCR and pyrosequencing. Appropriate samples are forwarded to the Wessex Genetics Laboratory for analysis of the MPN panel.

Myeloid panel (multi-target NGS panel (small variant)).

Karyotyping

As outlined in the Test Directory.

FISH

As outlined in the Test Directory other than M224.9, M224.27, M224.31 & M224.32.
