Pensions

All new OUH employees are automatically enrolled into the NHS pension scheme. Unless you choose to opt out of the scheme, money will be automatically deducted from your salary each month to go into the pension scheme.

The pension scheme you are in will depend on the date that you enrolled:

1995 section – staff who joined the NHS pension scheme for the first time before 1 April 2008
2008 section – staff who joined the NHS pension scheme for the first time on or after 1 April 2008 or those who chose to move from the 1995 section as a result of the last NHS pension choice exercise or the Choice 2 exercise
2015 scheme – staff who joined the NHS pension scheme for the first time on or after 1 April 2015 or have become members either on 1 April 2015 because they had no protection or on a later date because they had tapered protection
