BBC Radio presenter Bridgitte Tetteh to host OUH Staff Recognition Awards
20/08/2024
Bridgitte Tetteh, BBC Radio Berkshire and BBC Radio Oxford afternoon show presenter, will host this year's Oxford University Hospitals (OUH) Staff Recognition Awards on Thursday 5 September.
The awards are taking place at Oxford Town Hall and are an opportunity to celebrate the heart of OneTeamOneOUH – our people.
In a chat with our Communications team, Bridgitte spoke about her mum's nursing career in London – starting as a midwife in a Special Care Baby Unit, and ultimately becoming a go-to for guidance on infant care, especially those with additional needs.
Bridgitte, whose career started in hospital radio as a child, said: "It's an honour to be hosting the Staff Recognition Awards, and I'm really excited about it.
"Having seen my mum work in the NHS, and the difference it has made to our family over the years, I'm very much looking forward to celebrate the people who are part of it."
More than 2,800 nominations were received for the OUH Staff Recognition Awards 2024 - teams, individual members of staff, volunteers, and fundraisers were all nominated – and the finalists in each category were announced in June.
Professor Meghana Pandit, Chief Executive Officer at OUH, said: "Our Staff Recognition Awards recognise the provision of exceptional care – and we all welcome the opportunity to celebrate everyone's contribution."
Oxford Hospitals Charity generously supports the Staff Recognition Awards and we are grateful to them for making this important celebration of staff achievements possible.
Douglas Graham, Chief Executive Officer of Oxford Hospitals Charity, said: "The Charity team is fortunate to work across all our hospitals and see at first-hand how many inspirational staff there are at OUH. It is a real privilege to support the Staff Recognition Awards and take a moment to celebrate and thank these wonderful teams and individuals."
