'ACT NOW' in a Sickle Cell crisis - pilot launch

Oxford University Hospitals is honoured to be one of 18 pilot sites across the country, launching this September, to improve patient experience and clinical outcomes for adults and children experiencing a Sickle Cell crisis.

September is also Sickle Cell Awareness Month.

ACT NOW stands for:

AnalgesiaCompassion Test/Triggers | NotifyOxygenWatch

ACT NOW supports a rapid and effective clinical response to a Sickle Cell crisis and covers necessary tests and continual assessment of pain levels.

The ACT NOW acronym is included in the Royal College of Emergency Medicine Best Practice Guideline.

All staff working in emergency departments, admission areas and wards can now use ACT NOW resources.
