Anne Tutt, who has been a Non-executive Director of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 2009, has been appointed as the new Vice-Chairman of the Trust.

She replaces Geoff Salt in the role of Vice-Chairman following his resignation from the Trust Board for personal reasons in September.

The Trust's Council of Governors, which includes elected representatives of the public and staff, made the appointment at its meeting on Tuesday 30 October 2018 and agreed that this should take effect retrospectively from 20 September 2018.

Anne Tutt was originally appointed as a Non-executive Director on the Trust Board in December 2009 and she was reappointed in January 2018 for a further term which ends in November 2020.

She is a Chartered Accountant with more than 25 years of Board level experience in Executive and Non-executive roles.

She has led successful finance and management teams in organisations ranging from owner-managed companies to large multi-nationals in sectors including manufacturing and banking.

In addition to her role at Oxford University Hospitals, Anne is a Trustee and Chair of the Audit Committee of Oxford Hospitals Charity.

She is also an independent member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Department for International Development, a Director, Trustee and Chair of the Audit Committee of the International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications (INASP Limited) and a Trustee of the charity, The Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan University Partnership.

Anne Tutt says: "I am delighted and honoured to be appointed to the role of Vice-Chairman of the Trust Board by our Council of Governors. These are challenging times for the NHS both nationally and locally but the positive partnership between the Board and our Governors is a real strength as we move forward."

Dame Fiona Caldicott, Chairman of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, says: "Anne is a valued member of the Board and I know that her skills, knowledge and experience will be well suited to her becoming Vice-Chairman. I look forward to working with her in this new capacity."
